“Larooma Farm” on Bass Strait, North West Tasmania - loved by four generations of my family
MY STORY
I have always been inspired by the beauty of nature, often using objects found from the beach or forest as a link to creating. Naturally tumbled pebbles carefully collected over the years from remote favourite beaches were my first inspiration to create unique silver art jewellery. In recent years my focus has also moved to works on Japanese ink and paper works as well as large abstract canvases. I find it amazing that with some careful manipulation and creative thought a piece of sterling silver wire or plate can be transformed into a beautiful piece of jewellery that can tell a story. My paper works are delicate, thoughtful and peaceful; a reflection of my love and respect of beautiful coastlines. After years of moving with my family to amazing parts of the world - Hunter Valley, South Coast and nine years in New Zealand - we have finally returned and settled back into Newcastle life by the beach, but returning to the family farm in Tasmania as often as we can. As my practice grows there is a definite link between my art and jewellery. I look forward to exploring the next beautiful beach and finding another story to tell.
My jewellery and artwork is now stocked in a number of beautiful gallery shops around Newcastle.
